Will Smith made headlines at the 2022 Academy Awards, not only for winning Best Actor for his role in King Richard but for slapping Chris Rock on stage.

In case you missed it, Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith and Smith was not happy about it. He walked up on stage, smacked the comedian, and was then comforted by Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry backstage.

The discourse surrounding the slap went around the internet like wildfire, and many people were upset that there was no immediate recourse taken. But soon after, the Academy made the decision to ban Will Smith from the Oscars for ten years.

Now, Chris Rock is breaking his silence.
